How Towrigo collects, uses, and protects information when a breakdown becomes a job — for drivers, fleets, and repair shops alike.
Last updated · July 2026 · Demonstration document
01Information we collect
When a breakdown ticket is opened, we collect the information needed to dispatch a repair: the described fault, vehicle details, approximate location, and the account it belongs to. For repair shops, we collect business, licensing, insurance, and payout details as part of vetting.
We collect standard technical data — device, browser, and interaction logs — to keep the network reliable and secure.
02How we use information
We use ticket information solely to route the job to appropriate shops, run the auction, dispatch the winning bid, and settle payment through escrow. Location is used to match nearby shops and to provide live tracking during a dispatch.
We do not sell personal information. Aggregate, de-identified metrics may be used to improve response times and coverage.
03Payments and escrow
Payment details are handled by a regulated payments partner under PCI-DSS controls. Funds captured for a job are held in escrow and released to the shop only upon a confirmed fix, net of Towrigo’s service fee.
04Sharing
Ticket details are shared with vetted shops in range for the sole purpose of bidding and completing the repair. We share information with service providers under contract, and where required by law.
05Data retention & security
We retain records for as long as needed to operate the service, meet legal obligations, and resolve disputes. Access is controlled under SOC 2 Type II reviewed practices, and sensitive data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
06Your choices
Account holders may request access to, correction of, or deletion of their information, subject to records we are required to keep. Contact dispatch to exercise these rights.
